Event: Desert Lake Birding Walk at Eel Lake Nature Reserve

Join us for a peaceful and immersive morning in nature as we explore the beautiful Eel Lake Nature Reserve, guided by fellow cottager and avid bird enthusiast Phil Harvey.
This small-group birding walk offers a unique opportunity to slow down, tune in, and discover the rich variety of birdlife that calls this protected landscape home. Whether you're an experienced birder or simply curious, Phil will share his knowledge, tips, and passion for spotting and identifying local species—through both sight and sound.
Meeting Location
- We will meet at the entrance gate (sign) of the Eel Lake Nature Reserve (Nature Conservancy property), located on James Wilson Road, just west of the top of Eel Lake by car. A small parking area is available roadside near the entrance.
What to Bring
- Insect repellent
- Water
- Binoculars (recommended for the best experience)
- Light-coloured clothing (tick season precaution)
