Alan Revill Bio
About Alan
Alan Revill brings decades of experience in municipal governance, environmental conservation, and community leadership to his role as President of the Desert Lake Property Owners’ Association. A year-round resident of Desert Lake, Alan has a longstanding personal connection to the waterfront environment and a commitment to protecting the natural resources and communities that make the region distinctive.
Raised on a family farm in Prince Edward County, Alan developed an early appreciation for rural life and the importance of responsible land stewardship. After earning a Bachelor of Arts from Western University, with an area of concentration in Economics, he gained practical experience in the construction trades before establishing a career spanning municipal administration, building regulation, infrastructure development, and public service.
Alan served for 12 years as Chief Building Official for the Township of South Frontenac, with additional building inspection experience across several neighbouring municipalities. His public service also includes elected positions on municipal councils, including South Frontenac Township and Frontenac County, providing him with an extensive understanding of local governance, planning, and the challenges facing rural and waterfront communities.
Environmental conservation has been a defining focus of Alan’s volunteer and public service. He served on the Cataraqui Conservation Board, including several terms as Chair, and was elected Chair of Conservation Ontario in 2022. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA), where he contributes to discussions concerning waterfront communities, lake ecosystems, and responsible property ownership across Ontario.
Through his leadership of the Desert Lake Property Owners’ Association, Alan brings together his professional experience, knowledge of municipal processes, and personal commitment to the long-term health of the lake. His extensive involvement in conservation and municipal affairs provides valuable perspective in advancing the Association’s environmental stewardship initiatives and representing the interests of the Desert Lake community.
Alan and his wife, Diane, make their year-round home on Desert Lake, where they share their appreciation for lakeside living with their dog, Dexter. For Alan, Desert Lake is not simply a seasonal destination but a community and natural environment deserving of thoughtful care, informed decision-making, and a shared commitment to preservation.
His involvement with the Association reflects a belief that protecting the lake’s environmental health and sustaining a connected, engaged community are responsibilities shared by everyone who calls Desert Lake home.
